I ordered this for my nephew’s first birthday. His parents have very specific ideas about what he is allowed to touch and play with and this seemed to fit the within the limitations of their toy philosophy, and is also very nice to look at. The wood is very well sanded and soft to the touch; looks exactly as pictured, and has a good weight to it without being too heavy for developing hands and muscles. I haven’t gifted it yet; but having two kids of my own I believe it will be well enjoyed as he grows and develops. This is precisely the kind of thing little kids seem to go for. I had it personalized. It looks very nice. The font was a tiny bit smaller than I anticipated and in hindsight I would probably have included his middle name since his first name is only 4-letters long. If this is for a kid with a very short name, I personally think a middle name would look good with the first name too.
